Installing the propane system

October 2, 2014Matt Leave a comment

September 23, 2014Matt 1 Comment

So I’ve written before about my Natures Head toilet – it’s a great system that separates the solids and liquids, the solids needs emptying every 2 months or so, the liquids every few days. Unfortunately, I wasn’t really paying much… Continue reading →

First time outside the harbour

September 22, 2014Matt Leave a comment

Yesterday, it was a lovely sunny, calm day, so I decided it would be a good day to try to take the boat out of the harbour for the first time. So I did! And it went ok! Didn’t go… Continue reading →

Everything is tidy!

September 13, 2014Matt Leave a comment

So I finally got around to tidying up. Not that that SOUNDS super impressive, but I finally managed to clear up all the random junk that was lying around AND more importantly found (semi) permanent homes for everything. So in… Continue reading →

Crunch!

September 10, 2014Matt Leave a comment

Yesterday, the wind had calmed down enough that I could go out to retrieve my other crab trab. Once again I recruited my friend Nancy (who was noticeably more reluctant than the first time) and away we went. This time… Continue reading →

Last 100 miles were upwind against heavy current but it was ok, even the fearsome Punta Mala was tame. By far the scariest bit was threading my way through the shipping anchorage outside the canal, the traffic was very active and a couple of times I had to get out the way sharpish

Next, the canal!

The hardest parts are yet to come but after two and a half years, I'm homeward bound.
