First time outside the harbour

Yesterday, it was a lovely sunny, calm day, so I decided it would be a good day to try to take the boat out of the harbour for the first time.

So I did! And it went ok! Didn’t go far from the harbour entrance, and just drifted around for a few hours, fishing for ling cod. Several hits but didn’t manage to hook anything, but it was lovely to be just out on the water, and a great confidence booster!

Docking went ok as well, though I was TOO slow entering the slip, hit reverse too early and so had to haul the rest of the boat in by hand.
