December 24, 2016Matt 8 Comments

Winter is almost here

November 28, 2016Matt 4 Comments

November 19, 2016Matt 8 Comments

One of the things that I had to solve at some point was finding a way to get up the mast by myself. Previously, I had gone up the mast by putting my climbing harness on, attaching both halyards and… Continue reading →

Four cheap things that make being a liveaboard a ton easier

October 6, 2016Matt 2 Comments

These are the top four (4) things that pretty much changed my life… *dramatic pause* 1) This plastic bag. That may sound dumb at first but WAIT! At dock, using the standard spring line config (a line that runs from… Continue reading →

Cleaning a winch

September 6, 2016Matt 2 Comments

After a month of sailing around, it was back to my job *cue sad trombone noises* Also, as if to emphasise that summer and fun is over for the foreseeable future it began to rain. A bunch. This meant I… Continue reading →

Last 100 miles were upwind against heavy current but it was ok, even the fearsome Punta Mala was tame. By far the scariest bit was threading my way through the shipping anchorage outside the canal, the traffic was very active and a couple of times I had to get out the way sharpish

Next, the canal!

The hardest parts are yet to come but after two and a half years, I'm homeward bound.
