July 21, 2016Matt 13 Comments

In two days(!) I leave to start a circumnavigation of Vancouver Island! This is by far the biggest sailing related feat I’ve attempted, so a lot of planning has gone into it, and Emma is coming along to make things… Continue reading →

Returning home and first docking mishap

July 6, 2016Matt Leave a comment

Trip to Sidney Spit

April 12, 2016Matt Leave a comment

I still hadn’t tested my autopilot out on a full blown trip, and last weekend my friend Phil (same guy who sailed to Australia, Race to Alaska on a beach cat etc etc) had just bought himself a little 24′… Continue reading →

First time using (incorrectly) the spinnaker and getting the kicker working

April 4, 2016Matt 4 Comments

This weekend it was nice out, so I decided to work on the spinnaker pole. It was a second hand one and was a foot or so too long, making it tricky to handle. First I cut it down to… Continue reading →
