End of Summer

Well, its definitely Autumn. The nights are noticeably cooler, it rained a bunch, and there seems to be a billion mosquitoes. I straight up kill 3 or 4 a night, leaving their mushed corpses as a warning to the others, but they never heed it. Sigh.

It’s not all bad though – with the end of summer comes no fuckin’ horse and carriages blocking the roads, no more cruise ship tourists and better sailing winds. I don’t have to stay up as long in order to get nice sunset photos

I haven’t posted for a few days, mainly because I’ve been quite busy, but also had nothing really interesting to say – hence this rather boring update. Once I got back from my trip, I started doing portholes extensively – I’ve now down 6 out of the 10 (one side is totally done) but HOLY SHIT AM I TIRED OF DOING PORTHOLES. I’m serious, I’m about ready to bludgeon myself to death with a monkey wrench at this point, it’s about 5 hours per one, over two evenings. At least the weathers holding.

I’ve been out a couple of times on short little jaunts, most memorable being to Cadboro Bay where we met up with Rudy, Billy, John and Tracy from the dock. Rudy and John rafted up together, I chose to anchor out a little way as rafting scares the hell out of me. We had a grand time watching the eclipse and I got fed TWO evenings in a row. Luxury! We were right next to this gorgeous schooner.

On the way back we had a hairy moment when we accidentally wandered in front of a yacht race

Apart from that, I am pretty good. Going to install a new 12volt fan above the chimney flu, I started acting night classes again for a bit of fun, and am still doing some extra background work for a bit of extra dosh. Last film set I was on had TurboBabe so I got to speak to her again for a bit and catch up which was nice. So yeah – just keepin’ on I guess.

Oh, and I put a submission in to a sailing magazine, so we will see how that goes.

Matt
