Pardon my dust

Over the next week or so, I’ll be making a few changes to this website – the most important one is moving over to www.saildivefish.ca as Life on Gudgeon is certainly not accurate anymore. After thinking on it for a few months, I plan to keep the blog going as a more general record of sailing, fishing and yes – diving. This will end up with me getting another liveaboard boat at some time in the future and having another crack at the ol’ pacific thing.

I’ll do a 301 redirect for a few years but this is probably a good time to update your bookmarks.

The ‘rebrand’ or whatever is going to involve a different banner, front page, blurb etc so it’s going to be a weird half and half for a while, PLUS there is a non-zero chance that I will accidentally break everything for a bit while trying to move it over, so bear (bare?) with me

In the meantime, here is a picture of my summer project (details to come)

  1. Sounds like a great plan. Especially the dive part 🙂 Let me know if you want a hand moving stuff if you are doing a fresh install, although there are lots of wordpress tools to help with that these days. Looks like out trip this year is again on the chopping block since we were planning on sometime in the next 3 weeks. Maybe late summer although even that is looking sketch. So get out and sail for all of us.

    • Oh that’s such a bummer – really sorry to hear. Late summer may be doable – hoping to have everyone with at least one shot by June so that should help

  2. Will we have to sign up for email notifications on the new website or will it migrate over?

        • Well it *should* seamlessly transition over, it’d use the same DB etc just with a different domian attached so you wouldn’t really have to do anything. ‘Should’ being the operative word here

  3. HA! I feel your pain, it is a gigantic pain moving a website and for whatever reason images are NOT included with the streamlined move. So that is annoying. But the new ventures sound fun!
